3rd Trimester

Those Using Bradley Method

Do your exercises and practice with you labor coach.  I only occassionally did the exercises and could never get DH to practice with me.  Well, we ended up with a c-section.  I def think if I would have had DH more on board with me, we might could have made it through and things could have gone more smoothly for us.  In labor, DH and I never found a rhythm to get me fully relaxed through the contactions.  Although practicing feels funny b/c you just don't know what the real thing will be like, please listen to me and practice, practice, practice.  Good luck to all of you and I wish you successful natural births!

Re: Those Using Bradley Method

Can I ask why you think it lead to your c/s?

This is a little uncalled for.  She said she had inadequate support.

Studies show that adequate support reduces the need for interventions and c-sections.  Don't get nasty.

    That wasn't nasty.

Two question marks and a Tongue Tied come off that way.

If you say so. Nasty would be calling her names.

  • You really aren't helping these women or easing their minds about it. DH and I went to the classes, but we never practiced our breathing techniques. Guess what? I ended up with a c-section. Not because we didn't practice, but because my daughter was stuck, and had her arms up the entire time I was pushing.

You can't blame breathing techniques as the reason you ended up with c/s. Please. There has to be more to it.

  • Thank you for this!!!!!  I am having a hard time getting DH to practice but I will for sure make him do them now!!!!  Thanks again!
  • And I'd like to add that I was also disappointed that I had to have a c/s as well. But I know that the breathing exercises weren't the cause of it. Sometimes, things are out of our control, and it is necessary for a c/s. I know that you are upset, but don't blame your husband for it because even if you were more relaxed, who is to say that you would've had a natural delivery?
