I went to the RE today and am totally bummed. Last night out of the blue, i started spotting on cd 14 - it looked like a light period after BD (sorry tmi)...
I went in this morning hoping for a dominant follie - I ended up with spotting of unknown origin (still spotting but no flow) and what is likely a 31mm cyst on my left ovary (I have never had an ovarian cyst before either). They can't even tell me yet if it's a real period until the results from the blood draw comes back. Meanwhile, my cbefm is giving me "high" readings (shouldn't this mean I have a lot of estrogen and therefore should not be spotting)?
Other than the weird, provera induced period after my m/c, I have NEVER had mid-cycle spotting. This cycle was a break from fertility meds (except met). The RE suggested it could be a cyst from the last clomid cycle, but I only had one follie on the left and used a trigger and am pretty sure it ovulated.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be?
I am really discouraged and freaked out. So much for 6 months of exercise, no carbs and dieting and losing 20 pounds. My body decides to be even weirder. We were going to try a few natural cycles thinking that I might ovulate on my own but it looks like bcp and femara for me.
UGH - I am making DH share a sundae with me tonight....this sucks...
Re: Help - Midcycle bleeding :(
My blog: Making Me Mom
I just don't get it. This is not "normal" for me. I even had a spontaneous O cycle 2 months ago with no weirdness or spotting.....I don't understand why during the summer when we have time for all this stuff and after I have put in all this effort to get healthy that my body just can't cooperate? I am finally down to within 5-6 pounds of where I used to O and get AF regularly - what the heck is going on?
I did have an HSG on day 8, but no bleeding since then and yesterday? Could that be the issue?
I had an HSG and the same month I had an HSG I spotted mid cycle also... it was actually enough that we thought AF came 10 days early and I took my Clomid.
I didn't have any bleeding between the HSG and when I started.

Thanks - that's good to know. This is a little scary - I had no issues after the HSG - I barely spotted for a few minutes, no pain etc. I am still not in pain although I have that weird uterus "my period is coming" feeling a dull backache (the kind that usually goes with AF). I don't have a fever, and I took antibiotics, so I don't think it's an infection. The spotting is pretty light and not really turning into flow - but gets heavier if something goes in the vagina....it looks a lot like mucus streaked blood or the beginning of af...
this is really annoying - I was thinking you had better chances of getting pg the cycle of an hsg....of course, not for me....
