Experience with MiracleCord?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering whether anyone has had any experience using MiracleCord for cord banking?  Or has anyone hear good/bad reviews?  They've only been in business two years, so I'm a little nervous using such a young company - on the other hand, they are much more affordable than some of the more well known companies (e.g., Viacord). TIA!

Re: Experience with MiracleCord?

  • Hi,  I was just posting about this yesterday.  I don't know if it was my post that got you thinking of using MiracleCord, but on the off chance that you wanted a little more detailed information from the same person, I thought I would reply.

I heard about MiracleCord from my sister and a friend who used them - they both had nothing but wonderful things to say. They were great to work with and very knowledgeable. My husband and I had our concerns about them being a fairly new company (I think they have been in business since 2006) but they had all the same accreditations as the other companies we looked at, an extensive medical staff and their lab had been storing cord blood for more than 10 years. All I can say is that my husband is one of those ?researcher? types and he picked MiracleCord. If you go with them, somewhere on their website they have a $100 off coupon you can get when you request info. We waited to the last minute, but when we called they took the $100 off anyhow.

Best of luck to you in your pregnancy!

  • I only know of one MiracleCord and they have no record. They just opened their doors a few months ago.
  • Cheshirecat appears to be misinformed. We used MiracleCord back in 2007 after hearing about them from my doctor.

My husband and I always research all our options before making a purchase like this. So I collected info on a bunch of cord blood companies and called them all. I felt that most of them were way too aggressive for my liking. Calling MiracleCord was a much nicer experience. I spoke with a few people there and was quite impressed. They were all very helpful.

I had a question about a type of cancer that is prevalent in my family and got a call back almost immediately from MiracleCord?s lab manager who sent me a ton of information. He also told me that the lab had been processing cord blood for, I think, 10 years and that they are FDA registered and AABB accredited (one thing I learned is if you are going to do it, you definitely want that).

MiracleCord offered the best value IMHO. Their prices beat everyone out there and the service was top-notch.

We are planning on having one more, and when that time comes, we?ll definitely use MiracleCord.

  • definitely not misinformed if we're talking about MiracleCord in Chicago. They only started taking customers within the last year.

They also have their marketing person, Lainie Mercurio, posing as a client who recommends them on these sites.

  • actually, they either started taking clients toward end of 2008 or beginning 2009.
