DH mobilizes next spring. That's the best planning date we have right now.
I have lots of thoughts going through my head right now, mostly because we were planning to TTC #2 starting this month. I have no idea what to do with that, as I know neither of us wants to wait 3 more years to have another baby (9 months before, 3 months mobilized, 12 months deployed, 9 months pregnant). I also want to rock DD's world as minimally as possible.
So, the first order of business is to get DD into a closer to home day care. I wanted to keep her in the same chain, just move locations. But, the closer location is in the process of shutting both an infant and a toddler room. So, the likelyhood that she'll get in there within the timeframe before mobilizing that I had in mind is slim to none.
I'm torn between keeping her in a center, or moving her to an in-home day care. I was not impressed when we talked to the CDC (day care on the Army installation I work at) last year, and I'm not sure I would want her there. Especially if we DO decide to TTC before he leaves. I'm not sure which would be better for DD - a center (more structure, kids her own age, more reliability for me in terms of sick days), or in-home (more one-on-one attention?). I realize that there are pros and cons to both.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
