The question below about how many to transfer got me thinking...with your subsequent IVFs did you choose to transfer more than you did for the first one(s)?
We transferred two perfect embies the first time and froze two. This time I am actually thinking about transferring three. I am only 29 so I am not sure if our RE will allow it, last time 2 was the max.
What are you thoughts?

This time I went with 1.
My first fresh we transferred 2 - one began to develop and stopped early, the other split for a set of identical twins that we m/c.
My FET we transferred 2 - both initially took but one disappeared rather quickly; the other stopped growing near the end of first tri.
For this fresh cycle the embryologist suggested transferring 3, my doc wanted no more than 1 or 2, He said that since everytime I've had a transfer both embryos take but only one grows and wonders if the m/c's aren't due in part to the other failing. I figure its a theory woorth exploring. So this time we decided to give a solo bean a fighting chance with no competition and froze the remainder for future siblings (think positive). I'm 31.

We only transferred 2 last time. At our WTF appt. I asked about possibly doing 3 this time, and my RE said absolutely not. They usually only do that if you are >35 or the embryo quality is really awful.
He said with really good quality embryos, your chances of conceiving are about 50% - we just happened to be on the bad end last time.
I figured it was something we haven't tried/thought of before. I just hope the right one is in there!
I did 2 the first time and 3 the second - but those were all I had. If I got 3 again this time, I would do 3. If by pure miracle I got more than 3...well we would have to see, as it would be weird to put back 3 and freeze, say, 1.
GL!
Both my Dr's would only allow 2 to be transferred, which I was ok with. This last cycle I did wish we had transferred all three just because I was worried that the 3rd wouldn't make it to freeze. But it did which gives us hope for our next cycle.
My philosophy is that I did not set out to do IVF for multiples. Its an added bonus if it happens, but I want 1 healthy baby. The more embryos you transfer the more you comprimise that. Would it be nice to have triplets and be done with IF forever yes. But bedrest at 20wks, risk of preterm labor and all the things that come with that are not worth it to me.
I feel strongly that Dr's should not transfer more then 2 unless you are over the age of 35.
JMHO, Flame away!

After 4yrs, 5 IUI's, 2 IVF's, 2 FET's, PGD, and 5 losses our little miracle is finally here!
No flames here! I also am not doing IVF for multiples, but since we are OOP for IVF I really want to increase our chance of it working, because honestly, this is it for us.
If we had the funds or insurance coverage I wouldn't even question only transferring two.

This makes sense. For my first IVF we transferred 2 great blasts. For my second IVF, we transferred 2 perfect 8 cell embryos. For this 3rd IVF, we decided to be a little more aggressive and transferred 3. I just hope one or two of them decide to stick around!
