My doctor said I was okay on my stomach until 20 weeks, so I'm not worried about it too much. But I usually sleep half on my side/half on my stomach anyway.
Get a body pillow!! Mine was $20 at Bed, Bath and Beyond and I love it!
"For a long time there were only your footprints & laughter in our dreams & even from such small things, we knew we could not wait to love you forever."
I pretty much sleep on my stomch but with on leg out to the side and my knee bent so that I'm not right on my belly. I'm have a hard time sleeping on my side.
try a pillow between your legs, with DD I had the bed up against a wall so I leaned on the wall when I went to sleep, which was nice for DH because then he had more room!
It is really hard for me, too. I have ALWAYS been a back sleeper. I fall asleep on my left side, but wake up at least 3 or 4 times a night on my back. My sis bought be a wedge to put under my belly which helps make side sleeping more bearable for me.
My midwife said just sleep whatever way is comfortable. I was worried about the whole side sleeping thing, because lately I prefer my back - and she said sleeping only on your left side is hooey.
I have always been a stomach sleeper and just recently had to stop doing that and moved to my sides, right or left. I do use a pillow between my legs to offset the pressure some.
It's uncomfortable, I toss and turn all night. I started using lots of pillows and that has helped but I can't imagine what it's going to be like in a few more months...
I use lots of extra pillows! One to hug and tuck under my belly. One btn my knees. One behind my back so I can semi sleep on my back. My hubs says I'm encroaching his space but it's now me + baby. So we're entitled to 2/3 of the bed, right?
I try a body pillow in front and a regular pillow in back, I am a back sleeper all the way. Now I wake up with achey hips, I toss and turn all night and am exhausted all day long! Not sure if anyone else has this problem but my hands keep falling asleep and then when I get the feeling back they ache like crazy!
