3rd Trimester

skin tag removal?

I have had so many little skin tags since being pregnant, which my dr says should go away after delivery.  However, I got a devil of one overnight.  It's right in my groin where it rubs my undies and legs and it's humongoid!  It's killer painful!!!  Anyone know if there is any way to get rid of them naturally?

  • I have had the same problem, but mostly on my neck and chest.  I have taken to just clipping them off with nail clippers, which is probably not the best way to go!  I'd call your doc and see what they recommend.

  • Sooo glad to hear that I'm not the only one with these stupid skin tags! Maybe you can use a bandage or something for now? I haven't heard of a way to get rid of them.

Butting in from 2nd tri...I work in the dermatology department in a hospital and what they do is either freeze it off or snip it off. It takes 2 seconds and if it's only one or two, the docs here will do it for free.
  • So glad I am not alone. Mine are mostly on my neck I never had them til I became pregnant.

  • I've never heard of them going away on their own.  I had one about 10 years ago on my back and the dermatologist cut or burned it off (I'm not sure).  It was no big deal.  I've now developed one in my armpit (sexy!), but I'm probably going to wait until after I have DS to have it removed.
  • I had a horrible one my boob.  I tied a string around the base and it died and fell off.  DH always cuts his off but I hate blood, and can't do it.

my dad is a dr and said for ones that are small this is fine. just make sure to clean the area before and after. If mine dont go away after delivery im going to get the numbing cream Emla and do it.
