How much milk does a 1 year old need?

I was just wondering, we haven't had specific direction from our pedi on how much milk to give dd.

So how much milk does a 1 year old need? She drinks 32 oz of formula currently.

Also, does the total number count any milk? Including milk mixed into food?

My pedi said no more then 24oz. DS probably drinks 15-20. As you switch them to milk you give it more at meal times so the quantity will go way down.

I think its 12 -24 oz of milk a day. I am having a brain fart today.

DD drinks about 16-20 oz a day. Our pedi said she should have 16-24 a day.

According to Toddler 411 they need 500mg of calcium a day. 1c of milk = 250mgs so 16ozs of milk a day would cover that. But there are other ways to reach that amount in the form of yogurt and cheese etc.

I know the min. they wanted her to have was 12oz. because she has cheese and yogurt everyday. I think it was 18 or 20 oz. max.

Our pedi said at least 12ozs per day and that is if she is eating other things like cheese and yogurt. I try to get in about 14ozs of milk and some other dairy.
