3rd Trimester

Hi!- is anyone moving close to their due date?

Hi everyone! ?New to 3 tri board!

My husband and I will be moving because of a great job he got. ?It's about a 10 hour drive from where we live now. ?He moved there this week.....which means he won't be with me for most of the third trimester. ?I have to stay in our current location because I am finishing up my last semester of grad school before I graduate. ?I will not be able to move until 4 weeks before my due date. In anyone else in this situation? ?I hate trying to find a new doctor...I love mine! ?I plan on discussing all of this with my doc at my next appt, which is in a few days. ?Any info would be great! ?I really just need to know that it will work out! ?Thanks! ?(I posted something similar on the 2 tri board last week....)

  • You will be okay! I am about 4 weeks from my due date and feel great. Good luck with your last semester of school. The plus side is that you will have the whole bed to yourself during your last trimester. Lots of pillows!

  • I moved 17 hrs awat at 31w.  I didn't think the move itself was bad, but you just have to make sure you aren't stressing about it.  I ended up in the hospital 3 days after movnig b.c of pre-term labor, but it wasn't related to the move.  I have probably been in preterm labor for weeks, but my previous Dr SUCKED.  I would just recommend getting all your insurance stuff in order early so if you do have the baby before your due date, you aren't worried about that.

  • I'm moving this weekend (almost 31 wks)...

My tips - start packing early - you'll end up surprised at how much stuff you have. Don't pack the boxes too heavy. When you do the actual move, do NOT lift a thing, unless its couch pillows. Rent a truck or better yet get a moving service that does the packing of the truck, moving, and unpacking of the truck for you. Then DH and you can drive your own vehicle and take ALL the pitstops you need. A 10-hour drive might mean you stay overnight at a motel to break up the trip and make it more tolerable for you.  My DH and I went on a roadtrip at 24 wks - 6 hour drive, took us 12 hours due to pee, stretch and meal breaks. Better to take your time and be comfortable than to rush and be risky.

We've got 10 ppl helping us move this weekend and I'm only allowed to direct where stuff goes and make sure coffee break and lunch are taken care of. I'm seriously thrilled to not have to do any of the lifting.

  • I'm about a week away from my due date and still feel great. You'll be fine! Wink

Congrats on DH getting a good job!

  • Thanks for all of the tips and encouragement! ?We don't have too much to pack...we really left a lot of our things in boxes because we knew the last move would be temporary (one year) for me to go to grad school. ?I love that I won't be lifting a thing for this move! ?:) ?

I just made a long trip to Mass (8 hour drive one day and 12 the next)....it was awful! ?But, I am planning on my DH or mom driving me in my car for the move...so all I will need to do is relax. ?Haha

?Hope it all goes as planned! ?:)??
