Local woman selling BM on Craigslist....

This is sad. I would just give it away rather than selling it. I wonder if there is a market for this, and would there be a better avenue than craigslists. I was thinking if anyone knew if a better idea, we could email her and tell her at the address provided. But I guess there is no way to know if it is legit or not.

Re: Local woman selling BM on Craigslist....

  • I would hope that she would donate it instead of trying to sell it.  The milk bank prices are REALLY expensive though, which is why a lot of people go around milk banks.  I'm currently trying to donate my milk through Milkshare.  I have not had any testing done, but if someone requests it I will.

  • I'll email her about milkshare.  It's really hard to find people who need the milk though.  I thought it'd be really easy, but I haven't found anyone yet.  She may think that craigslist is easier than milkshare (which it may be).  Maybe she's also thinking that selling it will keep a creeps away.
  • I thought you weren't allowed to sell bodily fluids on CL. I bet it will get taken down soon!
  • Breast milk does not qualify as a bodily fluid.

  • If I could get $5 for 2 oz, I'd have myself a nice little business.  j/k.  Kinda sketchy.  Sad story for sure, but who would buy breastmilk off of craigslist (untested and all).  Really, I think it'd be nice for her to donate the milk in memory of her baby - - not sell it.
