Anyone had to have methotrexate for ectopic?

I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy on April 23 and was given a shot of methotrexate shot. My hormone levels finally reached the negative point. My doctor said to wait 2 to 3 normal periods before trying, which I'm willing to do however I hate waiting. Anyone have any ideas on how to deal with having to wait? I am so ready to try again but I know the doctor is right. I guess I'm just impatient.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to have to wait when you want something so badly. We had been doing IF treatments so it was kind of nice to have a few months "off" from the intensity, cost and roller coaster ride of IF. I actually used that time to get the nerve to switch infertility specialists.
You def. want to delay pg like dr. said because the methotrexate can cause birth defects from what I understand. It's actually a drug used in chemo.

I have. I get through the wait knowing my body needs to heal and make sure all of the mtx is out of me.
