I have a really hard time getting Ellie down for naps lately, b/c I just don't have half an hour to sit with her in a quiet room and wind her down. Keira is only 2 and has no volume control, and she doesn't want to leave the room and play alone while I get Ellie down to sleep, so she's constantly waking E back up again before I can even put her down. A lot of times, I end up just putting E in the swing in another room and letting her fall asleep there because I just can't find time to rock her and put her down in the bassinet, and that bums me out.

yeah those pesky 2 yr old and their lack of volume control lol
when my older girls were that age I would put Britt ( the oldest ) down for a nap first and once she's asleep I get Mandi ( the baby ) settled down and put her in the crib.
this only worked for afternoon naps though....morning naps were in the swing.
I'd put Sydney in the bouncer in our kitchen with the exhaust fan running to drown out Zoe's noise. We ran the fan so much that it doesn't run right anymore!
ETA: Eventually, I was able to park Zoe in front of the TV for a little while so I could put Sydney down in her crib but that took a looong time.
Sara falls asleep nursing, too. It's all kind of random (still, at 7 mos). She's hungry... oh.. and she's asleep!
She has a rough schedule now that I can kind of work around. But mostly she just falls asleep when she does.
If I have both of them alone at night then youtube is my friend. Christopher watches Coldplay videos next to me while I nurse Sara.
The only time that mine don't go down at the same time is Jonas' morning nap. I put a DVD on for Miles in my room while I put Jonas to sleep in the nursery (they are right beside each other). It only takes a couple of minutes as long as Miles isn't in the room...lol.

I always thought that with my first 2, but now I think it's more temperament. My third has obviously always been around noise and is much more sensitive than the other 2. I always made a point with my first to not be super quiet during naptime and go about daily life. He could sleep through anything (and still can). #2 comes, I keep the same philosophy, plus big brother is around making lots of noise. She was a pretty crappy sleeper, but noise did not bother her. #3 comes, the house is obviously pretty noisy, and she can't fall asleep without a pretty decent amount of silence. And the entire time she's asleep, I have to try to keep the house pretty quiet. I put her in my bed, in the back of the house and try to keep them in the living room with me, and have a sound machine on loudly. It doesn't work.
