some background in case you aren't familiar with my story:

I didn't have an obgyn before I was pregnant I was being seen by a cnp for annual exams and bc before pg. When I became pregnant I decided to see an obgyn closer to home than the clinic I was going to. The only time I saw my new dr was when I went in for my mc...and I ended up not liking her or the nurses at all. (i won't get into that)

So I decided to go back to the clinic that I was originally going to and was referred by a few co workers and friends to one dr in particular. Of course I procrastinated and just finally today went and signed my release form to have my mc information from the place I don't want to go sent to the place that I do want to go.

I was feeling awesome! Getting something accomplished. I called to set up appointment with new OB for annual and preconception exam. Turns out she is on medical leave and wont be back until July. My second choice for dr is not taking new patients at this time.

So what do you think I should do? I currently have an appointment set up for July 23rd. Would you stop ttc until seen, ttc and if I get pregnant see someone else temporarily, find a different dr? What would you do?

Yikes, thats a tough one. ?I would TTC and if you get KU see someone else until that doc is back. ?

If you don't like the one you went to for the m/c try looking for a different one near you.. also you can try vitals.com to see how they stack up and are reviewed...

I would continue TTC... I mean, you wouldn't know for like a month anyways (depending on where you are in your cycle) so that puts you at the end of June finding out... you prob wouldn't get an appt with anyone else before july 23rd anyways... i would continue TTC and then if it happens, then it's God's will and congrats! if not, you've go an appt already... maybe you could call and ask if you were to end up conceiving COULD your appt go from pre-conception to 1st pg appt without having to change the appt... if they say yes, go for it... otherwise, who knows when the next appt would be?

ok, i would keep TTC and if you do get pg before your dr comes back it's ok, because it's not like they see you right away anyway. if you needed betas or something like that i'm sure they can order them for you or you can always get it from another dr, like your family dr.

you can still do your annual visit while you are pg. pap smears are safe in pg and as far as preconception counseling, well that would be too late.

This is what I was thinking anyway....Im pretty sure I am healthy and don't have any health concerns at this point. As far as preconception counseling...I don't really need that either, they just prefer it that way. The only reason I would have liked that was to discuss my story with the new dr before hand....but it would not be the end of the world if I don't get to do that....I would rather be pg than not!

I would keep TTC. Period, end of story.

If it were me, I'd keep ttc and when I got a bfp, then I would figure out doc stuff *but be looking around now, too*

This. If you were seeing CNP prior to now, does that mean you got your PAP recently? Are you taking PNVs? If yes, I would keep TTC and wait for your appt. maybe you won't need it to be "pre-conception".
