We're flying out of town tomorrow and I'm wondering if we should get a cover to protect the stroller when we gate check it. I bought one for the car seat but not the stroller, yet. Thanks!

I don't have answer for you but where did you buy the cover for your car seat? I guess a cover would only protect from scratching etc....if the gate people are careless like all baggage handlers it won't protect from actual damage right? I am just wondering because we are traveling soon too. And are you gate checking the car seat as well?
We flew once with a layover each way and didnt get any covers and our stroller and carseat were fine. We also fell back a little so when we got our stuff to the gate the guy that moves the stuff down to the plane was coming back for the last of it and our stuff was put on top
We bought one of the JL Childress Ultimate Car Seat Travel Bags (on Target.com) for the car seat -- it got great reviews, and we have a friend who liked it. Maybe not necessary, but it has straps that allow you (or I should say, DH) to carry the seat on your back through the airport, which seemed convenient. Our stroller's not expensive or anything, just wondering if it'll stay clean enough without a bag. Sounds like it will. Thanks!

they don't count that as a carry on or anything when you are going through security do they? I guess the carry on thing only matters for the actual plane.
I just use heavy-duty black garbage bags to protect my seat/stroller (but particularly the car seat) when we gate check... no need to buy an expensive cover.
