My doc gives first appt. at 7-10 weeks. I had my first appt. today at 7weeks and 4 days. I had an internal u/s done. Heard the heartbeat too. Hold tight!! It was hard for me to wait also!!!! Good luck : )
My doc gives the first appointment at 11 weeks so I don't go in until June 22nd. I do know that she does an internal ultrasound at that appointment so it's definitely something to look forward to.
That's pretty common--but I know what a bummer it can be. I had my first appointment at 8 weeks, but all I got was a pap smear. Nothing exciting about that!
The best thing about waiting until 12 weeks for an u/s is that you'll actually get to see quite a bit. As great as it would've been to see our little bean earlier, I'm really glad that I didn't have my first u/s until 12 weeks (yesterday, actually). We saw distinct body parts wiggling about and the heart beating like crazy. Absolutely amazing.
I know it's hard, but the wait is worth it....trust me!

Ditto this! I was further along than I thought with my first pregnancy, and at my second appointment, I had my first ultrasound which dated me at 12 weeks instead of 10. It was so cool to see the baby because he looked like a little person. We got the best ultrasounds pics of our pregnancy from that appointment.
Jenny- I'm feeling good! My dr. warned me today that it's just too early and to prepare myself. Blech.
Just talked to my OB and they scheduled my first three appts. I see her for the first time when I am 12 weeks and have my first ultrasound at 13 weeks. I'm still bummed about that. I'm hoping I can at least hear the heartbeat when I go in at week 12.
ETA: I'm a moron...just realized that the date they scheduled my first appt. for is actually 8 weeks which puts my first ultrasound at 9 weeks (they schedule it at the appt. and you have it a week later). Now I feel better
Re: Bummer...don't get to see OB for awhile
I haven't had mine yet. ?I've been waiting... patiently.
?
I can't wait, and my BFF told me the first appointment was a bit of a let down. ?They just take blood, and do a pap
Come on. ?Stomps foot. ?I hope my doctor is different.

Tha'ts a long time to wait, my ob sees patients at 8 weeks. Sorry you have to wait so long, but I've heard that's fairly standard too.
Wow. 12 weeks seems so long! :-(
How are you feeling?
