3rd Trimester

XP from 2nd Tri: Anyone have this experience/similar?

I am preggers with my 3rd but this is a first for me. I went to my 26 week appt today and Dr said baby is measuring 28 weeks. He acted like it was no biggie but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if it definitely means I will have a jumbo baby etc. I take my glucose test this week and am also wondering about this since I know it can be indicitive of gestational diabetes? Just wondering. TIA

  • Plus or minus 2 cm is normal.

  • I've been getting growth ultrasounds every 4 weeks (I get cervical ultrasounds every week from PTL issues so they just look at his growth too while there looking at him).  My LO has been measuring about 2 weeks ahead since 20 weeks.  I do not have GD, just maybe have a bigger baby.  My DH side of the family are all really tall big men, so maybe that's it?  Don't fret, ultrasounds are not 100% foolproof and it doesn't mean you will have GD, although GD can cause big babies.

  • I measured big with my first pregnancy  (sometimes 4 weeks ahead), up until 35 weeks, then never any bigger.  My DD was 6 lbs 4 oz when she was born.
  • I have been measuring 2 weeks ahead for most of this pg and now at my 38 week appointment, I was measuring 37.  Ya never know...
  • Both me and baby are measuring two weeks ahead and I just passed the GD test.  We've been big the whole time!
