Shredders, convert me!

Wink  or at least attempt to.

What is this 30 Day Shred?  I get that it's a video, but what's it entail?  Why so difficult?  High impact?  High cardio?  Do you need any equiptment or can you modify?

Re: Shredders, convert me!

  • It's basically circuit training...so a combo of strength training and cardio and you keep moving the whole time. When you do the strength training, you're often using two muscle groups at once to increase your calorie burn, that's where most people feel like it's brutal. Like lunges and bicep curls together for two minutes.

The cardio is really minimal, IMO. I find that I'd need to do the shred AND my running to keep my weight down. I did find her "20 Minute Trouble Spots" video on On Demand, and now I'm doing that alternatiting between that and my running. That video really just concentrates on toning and strength training which is really all I was looking for in the shred since I like my cardio I already do.

  • I thought you meant paper shredding.  I thought, oooo it is so much fun and people can't find your personal info in your trash.Big Smile
  • For someone like me who can't seem to get motivated to work out, the 20 minute time commitment is pretty minimal.  I just did it for the first time today and am proud to say that I could keep up with level one.  Mind you, I didn't have any weights and I didn't want to kill my motivation before I even started, so I just did it.  It's the perfect length for me...I could probably do a bit more cardio but by the end I'd probably be more tired if I had had weights.  (So I guess that makes me at "almost one level" rather than level 1)

Oh, and I was able to do it without anyone watching....Ryan was upstairs with DH while he showered for work.  so that made me feel better too.  I was just worried that I'd get teased (not in a bad way) or that Ryan wouldn't leave me alone.  As it was, Ryan came down in the cool down section and wanted to climb on the mom jungle-gym. :)

Totally worth the $9 from amazon. :)  Or a few people have said it's on comcast on demand if you get that.

  • So it's a kick in the pants.  An arse kickin' jump start for my dead battery of a flabby butt.

I'll putz around on demand tonight see if I can come across it.

Thanks ladies.  All the talk here recently definately has my curiosity peaked.
