Help!! Waist band is too tight!

I LOVE my ON jeans and denim skirt!! However they are full-panel and the waist band is super tight across the center of my belly (even when I first bought them at 24w the waist band was way too tight). I have always rolled it down under my belly but now that dd has dropped and my belly is bigger, this is no longer an option at all. Has anyone cut off the top of the waist band or altered these full-panel items to fit easier??

TIA!!

  • aw that sucks! i've actually resorted to baggy yoga pants now because of that very thing. i'm leaving the maternity jeans intact so i can wear them after i deliver though (here's to hoping for baby + a bit of water weight loss right afterwards!). full panels can be a pain that way..

  • I took a pair of scissors to my half-panel pants yesterday, couldn't take it anymore, they were so uncomfortable. I just made a slit down each side, and it bought me a world of breathing room. I probably ruined the pants, but I don't care, I couldn't breathe and felt like I was smushing the baby.
  • i had a pair of ON pants and i have to say i think their full panel is crappy. they have that band of elastic at the top that makes it SUPER tight. in the end i just decided i wouldn't wear those pants my next pregnancy so i wound up cutting the top part of the band and then holding them up with a belly band on top. so annoying, but i think the way they've made them sucks!

this! and I should add to the list empire waist dresses...they do the trick!

  • Well I don't want to completely ruin them because I love the jeans and want to keep them but the top of the waist band sucks!! And I'm working until June 12th (theoretically) and still need more options than my 3 dresses and 3 skirts until then.
  • mmm if you need them for work i would just cut off a little bit off each side and add some new elastic bands to give you a little space to breathe..

right now I have 4 dresses 2 yoga pants and 1 pair of jeans that still fit...but I'm not working so it's all good...a little boring but good

I have had a lot of problems this pregnancy with waist bands.  I am carrying much lower than I did with mylast pregnancy.  Some things that are demi panel actually hurt under my belly.

The ON panels are so uncomfortable!  I don't know about cutting them.  Even some of the secrit fit things from Motherhood do not stay up right on me.

  • I have the ones that are midpanel (I think that's what they are called... the band is only a few inches) and it's just as uncomfortable as the full panel ones, but I like them better because I don't feel like I'm wearing maternity jeans.
