1st Trimester

What to do with DS during Ultrasound tomorrow??

Tomorrow is my 1st ultrasound to find out how far along i am and my Due Date :-) But DS is sick, he had fever of 102-103 Saturday-Monday a Rash Monday and Tuesday and woke up this am with Croup. Ugh my poor baby. DH and I havn't told anyone so it would be to hard to think of a lie to have my mom to watch him cause she would want to many details and I feel bad taking a sick kid to a waiting room of pg women. What should i do?

Re: What to do with DS during Ultrasound tomorrow??

  • GIven the circumstances, I would have DH stay home with him if possible, even if that means he w ould not be at the appointment :-(

  • You def should not take him with you.  Can dh stay home?  If not get your mom and lie.
  • Tell her you have your YEARLY check up-

shouldnt have too many questions then...

  • I'm sure you can come up with some story to tell your mom if DH can't stay with him.  Whatever you do, do not take him with you.

  • I'd probably just tell your friend or mom or something and then ask if they can watch your DS. I definitely would not take him to the waiting room because he might get one of the pg women sick.?
  • The YEARLY appointment is a good idea.  If that won't work for some reason, make up something else like a dentist appointment/hair appointment/massage appointment or something else along those lines.  If she asks why DH can't watch him, say that he has a _________ appointment/plans with a friend/wants to work in the yard without DS.

I wouldn't take a sick baby to the appointment.  If you can't think of something else, maybe have DH wait with him in the car or outside until it is time for you to have the u/s.  Then they can join you in the u/s room, limiting exposure to other patients.

  • Poor babe!!  I hope he starts feeling better!

I'd either get DH to stay home, or get your mom.  Make up a story, or just tell her.

  • Tell you mom you have a pap smear or something.
