Day 2 of no-nappy-paci...

...went ok I guess?  I was at work but Dh said that although she didn't sleep, she also didn't freak out.  She just talked to herself and rolled around in her crib.

Day one...was a different story.

Opinions?  Should we keep going?  Does that sound promising?  If this goes well, he wants to try her without it for bedtime in a week or two.  As I said before, I'm kind of letting him take the wheel on this one b/c I don't care either way whether she uses it or not.  She only has it for sleep.

    And just to clarify...by nappy, I mean naptime.  That's what she calls it.

    We went cold-turkey with Nora.  I don't think that taking it away only at nap time and not at bedtime would have worked for her.  She was addicted to it and I'm so glad it is gone.  So, so, so glad.

    LOL.  I think I'll be glad too, I'm just dreading the transition.  She doesn't handle change well.  She sleeps pretty well with it but if it falls out of her mouth, she'll usually wake up and cry a little, "MOMMY, MOMMY, DADA, I DOP pyuggie!  SO I see why Dh wants to ween her off, he;s hoping if we get rid of it, she'll just sleep through.  Meh.

    I thought it was going to be torture to take the pacifier away.  We'd tried before and it was horrible, but when she was almost 2 1/2, she lost her last one at my mom's house.  After searching the house for it, I told her, "Okay, that's the last one.  No more binks."  She asked for it a few times, but I explained to her that they were all gone.  She seemed to accept that fact okay.  She was already having some sleep issues, but I don't think it really added to them.  I wish you luck.  It is a huge relief to not have to search high and low for them anymore.
