I had a doctor's appointment last night and we scheduled my c-section! July 24th is officially the big day (only 8w2d left!!!!) and though I was disappointed at first I think I am okay with it now.
My doctor only does scheduled surgery on Friday so my c-section has to be 7/24 or the following week would take us to week 38 and my Peri was not happy about me going a day over 37 weeks due to my classical incision. Technically, I will only be 36w6d and not 37w and full-term which bothered me, but then I realized that one day at 37 weeks is not going to be a HUGE deal considering how much further I will have made it (fingers crossed!). My doctor told me I can still tell everyone I made it full-term.
Today I had my glucose test and rhogam shot. Both of these things were new to me since I never made it that far last time so I was happy to oblige, drink the disgusting concoction and sit there for an hour.
Yay for full-term babies!

Re: Busy 24 hours with lots of success!
I had an incompetent cervix with DS. I started having BH with him around week 15 and they were relentless. By the time they caught my shortening cervix at 22 weeks I was already down to 2.5 cm. The following week I lost my mucous plug and had a positive fFN test. They checked my cervix again 10 days after the previous check at 22w and I was down to 1.8 cm. I was put on hospital bedrest and I delivered 10 days later at 24w5d with absolutely no warning.
This time around I had a preventative cerclage at 15 weeks and I started receiving p17 shots at week 18. I will continue the p17 shots until 36 weeks and I was monitored bi-weekly via u/s to monitor my cervical length until week 28 (last Wed was my last u/s). Surprisingly, I had no BH until about a week ago this pregnancy, my cervix has remained over 4 cm the entire time (never went above 3.3 with DS) and I have had no issues.
They say every pregnancy is different and this one is the polar opposite of my pregnancy with DS.

Thank you for sharing your story. I had DS at 32 weeks due to PROM with no warning. My water just broke one night. I had actually had an u/s just days before and everything looked fine. So we have NO IDEA why DS came early. That's what makes it so scary for me to try again. I really want another baby, but the thought of having another preemie scares the crap outta me! I had a perfect pg up until that night.
I have not talked to my OB about trying again yet, but plan to at my next appt. It will be another year or so, but I'd just like to have an idea of what I'll be up against. I'm pretty sure I'd be getting the shots though. How was that? Did you do it yourself? I'm not afraid of needles, but I'm not sure I could stick myself.
Congrats again on your full term baby!
