Does your hospital have wi-fi?

I was too embarrassed to ask at the hospital tour, so now I might end up having to ask my midwife Embarrassed  I just want to know how I'm going to update everybody!!

Anyway, does your hospital have wi-fi?  Or do all hospitals have it by now? It only makes sense, right?

Re: Does your hospital have wi-fi?

  • Mine does. I have already told my DH if he does not want me screaming at him he must pack the computer in the bag! lol
  • Loading the player...
  • mine doesn't.  Sad  but DH has a Blackberry Storm, I guess that will have to work
  • I just assumed all hospitals have it by now... But I think I better ask my Dr at my next visit.  Just in case :-)
  • I'm pretty sure it does.  You would think I would know, working here.  I have seen parents at the bedside with laptops connecting to the internet, so I think it is safe to assume that we have it.
  • i don't know because i was too embarrassed to ask as well lol.
  • Mine only has it in the cafeteria. I will send DH down with a laptop to update. They are talking about makign it accessible hospital wide, not sure if they will have it by then or not. I hope so!

  • Mine does.  We have to ask for the password when we arrive.
  • I wish! Mine doesn't even have hook-ups in the rooms :(
  • Mine does and it's a newish fancy shmancy hospital. They said they are working on it.

  • Well, I'm planning a homebirth, and we have it!  Haha... but our hospital doesn't.  We have to pay! :(

  • ROTFL--my hospital is so far in the backwoods that it's impressive they have electricity and indoor plumbing!!  But, DH's phone will do the internet so that's what we'll use.

  • Mine does, and I am thrilled. DH and I are both bringing our laptops.

  • NO! And it's less than five years old!
  • Mine does! I was just on it updating you all from triage :)

It is how I plan to keep all of our family/friends updated during L&D, I'm not a phone person at all - I'd much rather give quick updates on our blog that they can all check than spend a ton of time calling everyone. That and if I want to distract myself/stay occupied during labor (especially after I get the epi and am stuck in bed), I'd much rather be online than watching TV or a movie...the ADHD in me likes being able to do a lot at once.

  • The hospital I am going to deliver at does, I would assume most of them do.
  • Yes, ours does. Check out your hospital webpage. It will probably say on there if they have it.
