Is this a scam?? Tell me what you think...

So my cousin (Devyn's mom) was shopping at the fresh market yesterday with her husband. A man, looks about 90 years old, walks up to her, places his hand on her shoulder and says to her " he wanted me to tell you that he is okay." Nikki responded by saying "EXCUSE me sir?".. He says "He is okay now and he wanted you to know that.".. He then walked away. Nikki was in so much shock that she just stood there and didnt ask him anything, didnt chase after him.. nothing. Her husband thinks the guy has been following them around town.. like stalking them.. my coworkers seem to think it's a scam.. People taking the chance that someone lost someone special.. say something like this that grabs attention, gets them in the door to do palm readings and then charges for more..

This is NOT a joke, or made up. This actually happened yesterday.

What do you think?? Angel, scam, or stalker?

Re: Is this a scam?? Tell me what you think...

  • Since the guy just walked off, I'd like to think it was a message from Devyn.  Maybe that sounds weird or kooky, but it sounds like the guy didn't do/say anything more than that.

  • Well, I'm not sure what the old man would stand to gain out of it since he just walked away, so I would just chalk it up to him being a bit odd.
  • If he didn't try to talk to her more, or stay and wait for her to respond, then I have to believe there is some validity.

It makes me think of a line from Hamlet, "There are more things under heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

  • DH agrees with me.
  • The man didn't ask for anything so I would just take it for what it was.

When I was in college, I worked at a make-up counter.  One of the other women there said that one day a man came in with his wife.  He started telling them things that no one could possibly know about them (like that this woman had twins).  His wife was annoyed because I guess he did that all the time but it was as if he really needed to say what he had to say to people.  I like to think that some people just have a gift.

  • Maybe he was a messenger angel.  I believe in angels.  I doubt it was a scam...what did he have to gain.  He just walked away.  So...even if he had been follwowing...maybe he was just figuring out how to approach her.
  • If he never appears again, I'd think it wasn't a scam.  When my mother died nothing eventful happened like signs or anything.  Then about almost a year later.  My dad got an email from my aunt with pictures from my wedding (my parents anniversary was the day before my wedding).  My aunt had sent me those pictures in an email a few days after my wedding.  I was married a year when my mother died.  Then all of a sudden my dad got the email with them.  It was really freaky.
  • I forgot to add that the date my aunt sent the email was in 2004.  My father got the pics in an email in 2006.  That is what made it weird/freaky.
  • He probably heard about her & her family somehow.  Old people gossip like crazy!
