I know I'm only 8 weeks, but I am SO sick right now (even on Zofran) and I feel like I would do better with some help & support from them. They're all women (and all report to me), and I'm sure they'd do great with the news, but part of me is really nervous about spilling the beans before the end of first tri...
Re: I think I'm telling coworkers early
I told my coworkers the same morning I found out. I could NOT believe that the second line was actually there, and definitely got everyone's opinion! (it wasn't a faint line, either LOL). But I work in a small 8 person office, we are more family than anything. I don't regret it one bit!!
Good luck on your decision!

If it makes you feel any better, I told my direct reports when I was about 6 weeks....I have been nervous but it has helped alot to have the support at work. They are all really helpful, making sure I eat and drink regularly (i used to survive on coffee).
I feel like it was the right decision for me, if something bad were to happen ---I think i would need their support as well.
For now I am going to stay positive and keep pondering whether its a boy or a girl! I am also going to pray that the all day sickness subsides at 12 weeks!
Good luck figuring out what to do!
Since I've been sick (I told them it's an "inner ear/vertigo thing"), they keep saying "Are you sure you don't have any news to share???"
We're a small (5 person) tight office, so I think I'll go ahead and blab. :-)
I told my supervisor very early because as an officer at a juvenile detention center, I am occasionally involved in physical battles and restraints with the youth. This does not happen often but when it does, I thought it best for my supervisor to know and also so that she would understand to try not to put me in situations with kids where it might get physical (or at least put me in the least amount of harm).
This last week I decided to tell the other people on my shift because we spend 12 hours a day together and I know they were catching on to my perpetual moodiness, exhaustion, and food issues.
It's all at your own pace. If you're ready to tell them, then it's not too early.
I heard and read its best to tell at least one person at work that you're expecting just for your own safety reasons, and they can also cover for you if you're really out of it one day.
I told my boss at about 6 weeks and the rest of the office after my first u/s just to be sure. I think next time I'm going to wait a little bit longer, but I will definitely tell at least one person at work just to be safe.
I'm going to tell one co-worker after my 8 wk appt so in case something happens to me at work (I pass out or something) someone would know. We aren't even telling our parents until 8 wks so I can't tell her before then.
We had Margarita Friday at work last week and I said I was taking medicine and couldn't drink. When I left early one day last week for a blood draw, I told her I had another UTI (I get them frequently). I'm tired of lying and want to share my good news!
Yeah, I told one today. She knew we were TTC and she has three daughters my age...I guess I just trust her. We were overseas together last week and lamenting our jet lag. I told her mine might be enhanced because I am pg!
I am glad that someone here knows now...especially since I have more travel in June and July.
I work with all women (26 of us, 5 on my executive team plus me), so I bet they'll be guessing before I tell...I am in the bathroom every hour and one lady commented that I am glowing. My face is very flushed right now. I might just tell the other team members when I am 8 weeks and then staff after I am 13 weeks, I will tell the Board Members then too.
I figure, if something bad happens, my team will need to know since I would be out of the office. Oh and 6 of us all have the same OB/GYN (one girl is still out on mat leave and I worry I might run into her at the docs office!)...she's delivered all of their babies!

I still havent shared the news at work yet....but I'm dreading unwanted advice from a few nosey ladies!
I also have not been sick at all, if I was I think I would have told all ready.
