I will try to make this as painless as possible.
I've been doing some research online, and I'm finding various answers...so I'm hoping that someone on here (easjer perhaps? You are wise!) can tell me what the deal is.
I got my BFP on 5/19 - at that time, I was 12DPO, CD34. (I charted) To calculate my EDD, I plugged in 1st day of last period which was 4/16.
According to this method of calculation I am currently 5weeks 6days along. However since I O'ed later than a "typical cycle" (chart says I O'ed on CD22) - than I should be less far along than that...right?
should I just stick to the whole 1st day of LMP - or should I give a crap?
I am thinking I should just wait until my 1st Ultrasound on June 25th and stop asking these dumba$$ questions...

that's what I am thinking will happen to me. thanks for the advice - congrats to you too!
I tried to calculate my EDD from the 1st day of my last period too but I O'd late so I was 2 weeks less far along than I thought I was.
Sorry if that didn't make any since.
No matter how you calculate the due date, it's just an estimation of when the baby will arrive.
Talk to your doctor and see which date he/she will use
According to pregnology.com you are 4w5d based on your ovulation date.
ETA: EDD - 1/28/10
Either find a calculator you can use your O day with or count back 2 weeks from when you ovulated and use that date as your "LMP" in regular calcs.
I know it's always fun to use your LMP when it makes your farther along, but that's not how far along you are.
If you give me your O day I would be happy to give you your EDD
LMP is meaningless if you have anything other than textbook cycles.
Looks like your "real" due date is 1/28.
Congrats on the BFP!
Typically, they'll go w/ your LMP date, so if you just want things to be easier, you could go that route. My due date according to the dr. is a few days off from what it *should* be, but hey, what's a few days, YKWIM?
I adjusted my lmp to reflect 2 weeks prior to when I actually ovulated so my tickers would be correct (and I still measured behind that on the u/s, lol). LMP dating is useless if you have such a late ovulation.
But if you have an early u/s, that is ultimately what your doc will likely base your edd on.

My Blog
I could be wrong, but I see that as only a VIP feature.
no biggie though. I agree with all of you ladies. Looks like I am off about a week. I will just wait until I meet with my DR and see how it goes from there.
it's funny to me how charting has almost made me "too informed" of my cycles and O date, etc!
thank you for all the advice!
Oh, woopsie. I forgot I got a VIP trial just before my BFP. My bad!
I O'd on CD26 and definitely am using that date to calculate my EDD (I had to convince the nurse to mark it on my chart since she wanted to go by my LMP which was 4/15 when I O'd on 05/10).
I don't want to stress about my measuring small for supposedly being 6 weeks (if they go by "standard" 28 day cycle with 14 day LP) when I am just 4.5. I am grateful I was charting and know exactly when I O'd. And grateful my doctor's nurse listened to me.
