Over the past few days, my numbers seem to be going crazy. I have had at least one each day that is over 130. I have not been eating anything crazy so I am freaking out a little. My next OB appointment isn't until Tuesday. What should I do? Call the doc?
Re: My GD numbers are crazy!!
Depending on what they want you at advice may vary. It depends when you are testing and what you are eating.
My scale is that fasting should be 97 or under (I think)
But all the others after meal (1 hour after I begin eating) are 150. So if I got 130, it would be ok. However, when I had the betamethazone (steriod to strengthen baby's lungs) in my system I had to be at 120 for the same time span.
need more info to be helpful.
It doesn't hurt to call and it may ease the stress level. Stress is not good for your numbers. Per the nurse who monitors me she said if it have high numbers 3 times in a row then you should worry. If it's here and there drink at least 16 ozs of water and go for a walk (min. of 10 minutes). The water and walk help me out so much- as much as a difference of 20 on my numbers.
Sorry about the lack of details.
My fasting number is supposed to be between 60-90. I am usually OK with that number. However, 2 hours after each meal the number should not be more than 120. This is where I am having trouble.
I agree with the pp, I was told if I had 3 bad numbers in a row then to call. Over the last few days atleast 1 number every day over 120, some were like 122 or 123 but it was because I couldn't exercise after the meal. I was in a wedding so it was a hard weekend but now that we are home my #'s are back to normal.
My doc also said that if i had 3 or 4 bad #'s in a week he wouldn't put me on anything.
I think it can't hurt to call. My numbers were great for 5 weeks, and then suddenly out of the blue my fasting numbers went CRAZY and I couldn't control them. From what I know of GD your body needs more and more as you become more preggo
So what you ate yesterday and were fine with doesn't mean it will work.
?For mine, it was if I had 3 of 5 numbers in any meal (3 high breakfast) then I should call. If I had high numbers in any category, but not more than 2, it wasn't a biggy. I am still diet controlled during the day, and i agree that it helps to take a walk, drink water, etc.
Hang in there!?

My guidelines are the same as yours. If I get 3 high numbers in a row, I have to call... even if they are just a little over (like 122). Better to be safe than sorry!
