I volunteered to throw a baby shower

I'm not sure if I'm just feeling really optimistic that I'll be KU by then or I'm just a masochist, but I did it.

I've been trying to decide if I was strong enough to throw the shower for a close friend at work who's due in sept (almost exactly a yr after Sophia was born).

I finally decided that I'd be sadder if I didn't try to do this for her. She threw me an awesome shower and I just want to do the same for her and make this special.

I'm proud of myself for volunteering now, but I may need some pep talk as the date gets nearer. lol

I have now become a master at diaper cakes (just made one, but I consider myself a master, haha) so if you need any tips I'd be happy to help!

I'll have to take one tonight. It's still not completely done, need to make the topper, but the actual cake itself is done. It's actually really easy and a lot of the girls on here gave me some great links. I googled the images of some and then went from there (I'm a visual learner). I'll try to remember to take a pic tonight though! It was really fun to make though.

I threw a shower for my SIL about two weeks after we lost the babies. It was really hard, mostly because of the reactions of the people there. They were all close family and friends and my mom had told everyone. The looks and hugs and words of 'encouragement' from them was the hard part. Watching someone that I love celebrate the arrival of someone she loves and that I was going to be able to love made it all worth it in the end. GL and I'm very proud of you for volunteering.
