Slow Flow - How long does it take your LO to finish a 4-5 oz bottle?

I'm using the slow flow nipple because I'm still nursing in the mornings and evenings. Most days it takes her at least a half hour to 45 minutes to finsh the bottle. Is this too long or normal? I don't want to change to a faster flow because I'm still BFing and I don't want to take a chance with it.

    This.

  • It takes him about 20 minutes to finish a 4 oz bottle and we are still using the slow flow nipple also.  Sometimes if he is too alert and looking around a lot it will take him more like 30 minutes.  But I exclusively FF so he may just be a pro at the bottle now!
  • Probably about 15-20 minutes with a couple burps in between.

     She's 5 weeks 4 days old.

  • wow - really! and your using slow flow nipples? Hmmm...LO seems to take a long time...
  • DD did this before we switched her to the level 2 nipple, but we're FFing so I don't know how it works when you're BFing.

I don't think DS ever took that long. I ended up switching DS to a medium flow this week because we've been having troubles going back and forth between bottle and boob. I have a fast let down, so he was prefering the slow flow. You could try it once and switch back if it causes you problems.
