Who's about to go BSC?

me.

I am so stressed out right now. This UTI that E has is going to make me lose it. First, we end up in the hospital for two nights and now that we are home it has just been a nightmare! We are on day 4 of 7 with this antibiotic and it is just horrible. Everytime we give it to her (2x's a day) she just screams bloody murder for about 2 hours (we guess it upsets her tummy). Now the past two days she has spit up essentially everything that she is taking down.

On top of all that she now wants to nurse EVERY hour! (Unless she is sleeping... which is ONE nap during the day and a bit at night). Speaking of night sleep... the last 2 nights she has woken up for 2 hours in the middle of the night and will NOT go back to sleep!

I am that psychotic mom that calls to talk to a nurse or doctor everyday! I feel like such an arse... but I am going to have to call again :( I don't know if she is keeping ANY of this medicine down anymore.

I hate this.

  • You're not neurotic, you're concerend w/ a very sick baby.  Call and tell them what's happening, maybe they can help!

Also. . .is there anybody that can come help for a few hours so you can get some sleep?

Hang in there. .  this too shall pass.

  • That sounds rough and you are not psychotic!!! When it comes to these little babies medicine and illnesses can be really frustrating! Hang in there!
  • have you tried mixing the meds in with formula/breast milk(if she's bottle fed)? it might disguise the taste a bit and maybe she's throwing up because she's getting so worked up?

I always give it to her right in the middle of feeding her. She gets a little upset and spits up a little before swallowing, which I just push back into her mouth. She goes right back to the boob and keeps eating. The spitting starts about 10 minutes after she's finished nursing!

  • I'm so sorry honey. A sick baby + a sleep deprived mama is NOT fun.

Don't worry about calling the doctor. THAT is what they are there for!!
