I am in the process of dropping down to one pump per day and I'm hoping to be done or close to done EPing by Scott's b day (6/10). ?I'm wondering how long I should expect it to take for me to dry up after I stop pumping. ?One of the very few benefits of EPing is that I can very gradually stop--reducing a pumping session by 5 minutes every 2 days or so until I'm down to only 5 or 10 minutes and then just stopping. ?I just don't have any idea of how long I should expect it to take to dry up. ?And I'm guessing this is one of those things that's different for everybody!

    When I stopped EP'ing (only did it 5 weeks), I think I stopped on a Monday and was fine by that weekend.  I put cabbage leaves in my bra and also took Sudafed to help me dry up.  Only the first day or two was really really uncomfortable for me.  Good luck, it's awesome that you EP'ed a whole year!!!!!!

    It took me FOREVER to dry up, but I didn't wean from the pump as slowly as your are talking about.  It took me weeks, and I was in alot of pain.  I should have taken more time to wean, but the thought of getting the pump out made me want to vomit, so I endured the pain.  I think it's awesome you've made it this long, so I'm sure if you wean slowly you'll be ok.  I had trouble with clogged ducts too, and that didn't help.

    I dropped one feeding per week, so very gradually (though I BF, not EP). It took me over 2 weeks to dry up. I dried up within 1.5 weeks on one side, but one side took forever (but I also got mastitis on that side). I'm sending you good weaning vibes!!! :)
