1st Birthday Season
So, all my mommy friends are starting to have 1st Bday parties for their kiddos. What is a failproof gift I can get for all these parties? I'm thinking a book ? I also like sewing - would a hand sewn outfit be too odd?

books are good
not so sure about a hand-sewn outfit, some may love it and some may not; if I were you, I wouldn't go to the trouble of making one
Books and puzzles are good generic 1st year gifts. A hand sewn outfit would be nice, but you'd want to just do it for parents/kids that you really know well I think, so that you can size them properly.
DS got a few clothes for his birthday and they're all way too big. I feel bad that he'll never be able to wear them (I'm hoping he'll have grown by next summer of course).
