When your water broke, what was it like?

I was fully dialated sitting in the laboring bed when I felt a trickle, like I peed myself. The MW then broke it the rest of the way and it was a HUGE gush, then the worst contraction ever! Some womens water doesnt break until the end of labor, mine didnt for both of my pregnancies.

My water broke with my first and it was more like fluid that kept coming even though I was not peeing. I had no control over it like you would if you were peeing. It was not gushing, but it kept coming slowly. It was just warm fluid that did not stop.

With my DD it was like I was lightly peeing myself.

With my DS picture what it is like in the movies with the big gush and water everywhere. Multiply that scene like 10 times because it kept happening.

At first it was just a slow trickle for a good two hours (I wasnt sure it had broken until it was over two hours). And then I was laying down and I think my DD gave one good kick and it poped and it was a gush.

Mine was a really slow trickle. I didn't even know that it had broken until they tested me for it at the hospital. A few hours later I had a few big gushes, but I was pretty far along at that point.

Mine broke while I was in the bed at the hospital and I wasn't sure if I had peed myself or not, sure felt like it but I couldn't stop it.

Hollywood-style gush without warning and an hour before I felt a contraction with the first. With my second, it broke a couple of seconds before I started pushing. The pressure was so great it squirted out and hit my feet like a garden hose.

mine didn't break for real until i was in the hospital. however it did start leaking in the middle of the night. everytime i went to pee my underwear was wet.? at first i just thought it was just watery discharge but after three pairs of underwear in two hours i became suspicous and went to the hospital.

they finished breaking it in the hospital and that was a huge warm gush.

It broke in a huge gush as I was laying on the couch and continued to leak for a while afterwards. The break was so startling, it felt like an elastic that had been stretched too far and just popped.

This was my experience too. It happened in bed after we had gone to sleep. I was just thankful it didn't happen a few hours earlier while teaching Kindergarten! I can only imagine their reactions!

Mine was a slow leak at home. I only knew b/c the OB had given me these special strips that change colour if in contact with amniotic fluid. I dont know what it's called. She gave it to me b/c I though about 2 weeks before that my water broke.

The real gush came after I was having super bad pitocin contractions and I got up to use the bathrooom and it just gushed. Honestly, b/c I was so upset and scared with the contractions, the gush and amount totally freaked me out. Also, it felt weird.

I actually didnt' even realize mine broke. I went to have a version (our baby was breach) and there wasn't enough fluid to do the proceedure..... so we had a baby the next day by C-section!

I was in the car, and blew my nose. Right after that, my pants were wet, like I peed myself. I didnt believe that my water had broken. Like a minute later, I had another big gush, and then another. When I finally got our of the car, and stood up, it was like someone had turned on a garden hose in my pants. Lots of liquid that kept comming and comming. That was at 1pm, but I didnt even have my frist contraction until 5:30.
