Is there any major diff between Hotsling Peanutshell & New Native?

DH has decided that he doesn't want to use the moby wrap, but he still wants to do baby wearing, so he wants a pouch sling.

We did a little research on each website this weekend and it looks like the Hotsling is winning out, mostly just b/c of the price and we can get it locally.

Is one "better" than the other though? Any reviews?

Re: Is there any major diff between Hotsling Peanutshell & New Native?

  • I only own a Peanut Shell, and LOVE it. The fabric is stretchy, and it is amazing for the newborn stage. I have only found that out this time around. I didn't get it with DD #1 until she was about 7 mos, but it was great at that point, too. Once she got a little heavier, though, I couldn't wear her very long before getting tired, but that would happen with any pouch sling. I have NO experience with the new native, and have only felt the fabric for the hotsling. I was not impressed with the HS, because the fabric was NOT stretchy. I'm a fan of the pouch, though. Haven't gotten my wrap to work for me yet.

  • All the New Native's I've seen are sewn closed at the shoulder, which compromises adjustability and comfort.
