I am trying to research CD and I am so, very, very lost. My mom tried it with me and I have extrodinarily sensitive skin and my skin "broke down" with CDing. For that reason, I don't want to go overboard buying a ton of stuff that I may not get to use. I'd like to buy enough to get me through the newbornness.. I've been researching and I'm so confused. Should I go with the all-in-ones? Or the pre-folds and covers? We are on an extrodinarily tight income (another reason I want to CD), and so we don't have a ton of money to buy the diapers... I've been looking on cotton monkey and... now I'm even more confused.
Anyone cloth diaper and have a lot of advice, and/or explanation?
Thanks!

I loved this site:

?
sorry - I don't know html and I can't find a hyperlink button ?
I've collected a bunch of introductory stuff in my bio, on the cloth diapers page.
ETA: BTW, as for cost concerns, here's what we're doing: I got a newborn diaper rental from Nell's ($150 upfront, with a $75-85 return - for a total cost of $75-65 for three months). We also got some prefolds, which are the least expensive way to CD. We registered for diaper covers and received a ton of them. We also bought a couple of used AIO to try them out.
We're holding off on buying anything for larger babies until we have a feel for what we like (so that we don't waste $$ on diapers we won't use). Since we'd also like to stay cost effective, we're thinking of sticking with prefolds or using one-size pockets and/or AIO.
PFs and covers are the cheapest way to go imo. You get the most amount of diapers for your $. Everyone on here raves about www.greenmountaindiapers.com and their prefolds. They recently had seconds available for about half price. Check their site as I'm not sure if they still have them. I also hear good reviews about Little Lions prefolds too.
I'm planning to do pfs and covers for the next one. I might get a few fitted and aios for trips out of the house since they're easier. Then again I might attempt to make some myself.
