Ok Canon Rebel XS........ good camera, yes? I think this is what we have narrowed it down to, just wanted to get your final opinion.

    I have the Nikon D40, but I have heard excellent things about the Rebel. ?I used Canon cameras all my life before my Nikon. I don't think you can go wrong there!

    I have the older Canon rebel XTi and love it. I would think it would be fine.

    The Nikon that Amie and I have (D40) is the Nikon equivilant to the Rebel.  I don't think you can go wrong with either.  I picked the Nikon because it's smaller than the Rebel, and the view screen is larger ... although that was 2 years ago, I don't know what changes (if any) Canon has made.
