The doc wants me to draw more blood today and try to look for signals such as pain. Those are the only directions I have so far. Maybe its too early to detect on ultrasound?
What is making me feel like it must be ectopic is why would I have basically had a period. I bled quite a bit so I would assume all my lining is gone. So confused...
It is way, way, way too early to say ectopic. If you had a full period, that is certainly a possibility. My ectopic came complete with a full period and a beta of 35 at 16 dpo (with no chance of late ovulation).
Now, that said, I do have two friends who had full periods and healthy babies. So it is very possible that you simply had a late implanter.
You won't be able to see anything via u/s until your levels are a lot higher - usually, they say your levels should be over 1500 for most u/s equipment, and if you hit that point and there is an empty uterus, even if they don't see anything anywhere else, they will diagnose as a presumptive ectopic and treat it as such. I know tbird told me they thought they saw something on her u/s around 800 hcg. My u/s was totally clear (well . . . they noted nabothian cysts in my cervix, which I do have, but it's likely one of those was the pregnancy, but it was too small to read as other than a normal cyst - it did definitely grow by the next u/s when it was officially diagnosed).
At this point, I'm afraid there isn't much you can do except continue doing blood draws to see whether or not you are doubling - very few ectopics double normally.
I know how much this uncertainty and lack of clarity suck, and I am so very sorry you are in the midst of it. I'm still holding out hope for a good resolution for you, but I hope whatever the outcome, you get a resolution soon.

Ditto everything easjer said. It's way too early to tell if it's ectopic. On the plus side, your #s are more than doubling. On the minus side, you bled, whiich could mean a lot of different things.
With my suspected ectopic, the numbers didn't even double--they were 15, 21, 26, etc. And they saw nothing on u/s, which didn't mean anything since the #s were so low.

Re: What is going on...
Could it be late implantation? It's still doubling...
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I am praying extra hard that you've got a very determined late-implanter in there. You deserve a happy ending!
Much love.

Well that looks like a doubling beta to me.
I pray that they figure this out soon for you. Maybe you really do have a sticky baby.
