of what you got actually came off your registry. I've been reg. stalking (I know, I know...) and not much of anything so far off either has been purchased.
What did you get? I am anticipating nothing, or very little.
I had a shower with DD. Most stuff was not off my registry. DD was the first girl on both sides so everybody wanted to buy girl clothes and pink stuff.
I've had one small shower. A few people went off the registry and the rest picked registry items. A lot of people bought at the last minute, though. I was a registry stalker too and got worried that everyone would buy random clothes. Luckily, that didn't happen.
My first shower was back at home the weekend before last. My shower hostess aka best friend had suggested gift certificates as I had to fly home! I received about 600$ in GC plus a box full of baby stuff (only a blanket was off the registry)... Gotta love gift receipts!
Probably about 75% came off the registry - but almost nothing was checked off the registry. (So when I stalked it looked like only three things had been bought off the registry).

I got one thing off my registry for my family/friends shower. I'd complain about it, but most everyone gave me a handmade gift (blanket, sweater, etc), which was so thoughtful and sweet. Then I got a *ton* of stuff off my registry from a surprise work shower (maybe a third of the entire registry--they were unbelievably generous).
I would say that 95% of what I got at my 3 showers were stratight off my registry. I think it helped that we didn't find out what we're having, so people didn't go crazy buying girl or boy clothes. I did, however, still get quite a bit of gender neutral clothing ~ but for the most part everything was off my registry. It was awesome!!
The only things that actually came off our registry were the travel system, desitin, and lotion. But we did get tons of other stuff that was on our registry, but in other brands, probably from some other store than BRU. For example, we registered for a bottle brush, which we got, but not the same one we registered for. We're greatful though, because I don't really have a preference on brands for the little stuff like that. We also got a ton of clothes, but we didn't register for any, because we figured people would just buy what they liked.
the first shower i had...we got a ton of clothes an literally 30-ish bibs! lol. but i had a shower this weekend, and even though there the registry hadn't changed an hour before the shower...[[i was registry stalking]]... i got so much stuff off of the registry... a lot of people don't have them take it off the registry...
i was really happy that i received practical items... that i really needed and didn't really want to pay for.. even though Dh and i were prepared..
ummm... items included... medela breast bump, breast feeding storage/supplies, pack and play, baby bath, diapers, wipes, tons of bottles, cleaning supplies, clothes, bibs, diaper bags, custom wall art for the nursery, tons of gift cards and cash. etc... we were very blessed this time around!!
All but one gift came off our registry. I was really happy about that and surprised because right before the shower it was still showing that nothing had been purchased. A quick look at the gift receipts told me that nearly everyone bought their gift on the way to the shower and the registry updated the next day.

The 1st shower that was thrown by family we received very little off our registry. A baby carrier, bouncy seat and ear thermometer. We received LOTS of clothes and other fun stuff.
The 2nd shower that was thrown by my BFF and her mom - we recieved TONS of the registry. I was actually amazed. Car seat, extra car base, high chair, baby bath, bottles, diapers, wipes, sheets, outlet plugs, dishwasher basket, changing pad covers... pretty much everyone shopped off our registry.
We also anticipated not getting much off our registry and planned on buying everything with the completion discount.
We were lucky enough to get three showers thrown for us. You'd think, therefore, that we would have gotten most of the stuff on our registry, right? You'd be WRONG. A very few people got us essential things off of our registries (car seat, baby monitor, etc), and a few more people got us cutesy, low price things off our registries. But most people got us clothes and things (toys, blankets) THEY thought were cute, totally ignoring the registries. It's good that you're not expecting anything much to come from your showers, because it's my experience that that's how it goes. And it's also frustrating, because it made for a LOT of returns. We were able to take back about 50% with a receipt and got cash to use for stuff we actually needed, but had to have store credit issued for some stuff, which is a big pain in the ass. We now have merchandise credit at stores that we don't shop at and don't need stuff from, like Gymboree and Pottery Barn Kids. I think those stores are cute, but $25 there doesn't go nearly as far as $25 at Target or Wal-Mart, which we prefer to shop at. I know it's supposed to be the thought that counts, but when the thought brings more work to the people the gift is bought for, what's the point?!?
I had my first shower last week. It was small, at DH's work. I'd say about 1/3 of the gifts were off the registries, 1/3 were not, and 1/3 were gift cards. I was happy with all of it.
I stalk my registries as well, and most people didn't buy things until the day before the shower. I have another shower next week, and so far no one has bought anything yet. So, I wouldn't worry too much.
We got a pretty substantial amount from the registry. People actually didn't get us clothes really. Not sure if it's because we're having a boy, or just because most of our guests aren't the type to enjoy perusing the baby section, and probably ran in and out as fast as possible. We did get a few non-registered for toys, blankets and extras like pacifier holders, but overall, it was mainly what we asked for.
I should probably note, however, that at least 25% of the registry stuff purchased was bought by my mother. She went way overboard.?
Contemplating the snow.

Our family/friends were nice enough to throw 3 showers for us, one small and two large ones. Plus we each had a surprise work shower. We registered for about 80 items ranging in price from $5 to $400 (breast pump), although must things were in the $25-$50 range. We received all but 10 small items. We also receive about $500 in gift cards.
From what I could tell, most things did not come off until the day or two before the shower.
Half the stuff was taken from our registry. Would have been more, but people were having trouble accessing our registry at BRU. We got the stroller, the Boppy, a ton of diapers and bottles, soaps, our monitor and some other stuff off our registry and the stuff that wasn't from the registry was super cute and useful too - more clothes for different ages.
Our family and friends pretty much stuck to the registry. It was mostly registry items or gift cards. A lot of people bought off the registry and added onesies or a cute outfit. After our baby showers (we had 3), we only spent about $180.00 out of our own pockets and now we're fully stocked for LO (other than diapers).
We got most of the things off of our registry. DH and I went to BRU on Friday night to buy the last of the things that we needed. We bought mainly off of our registry and I found that several of the things we bought did not come off online. It was one transaction and had to be the system--not the cashier. We found that we received duplicates of things that mysteriously did not come off even though people had bought them off of our registry. Not a big deal though!
Only 1 thing from the registry. I wasn't surprised though because I already figured most people don't take the time to look at it, etc. anyway, or might not even step foot in that certain store we chose.
I got all my big stuff (stroller plus accessories, high chair plus accessories, car seat, video camera), minus the swing. Pretty much everything else I got was something of the ruffly pink dress variety. All very cute.
On the upside, I am running out of room for clothes, so that will keep me from blowing a ton of money on clothes and make me stick to the things I actually need!

But as far as gifts go- I have started to receive random items and i already have way too many baby blankets!
