SO EMABARRASSED!!!

Oh my goodness!!  Yes, my facebook account was hijacked!  I have been away from my computer all weekend because my sister got married!  Of course all of my friends IRL knew this!  Grr...it has been SO frustrating trying to get this all sorted!  I don't think they got into my email account because I was able to change my password.  I checked my profile from my MIL page and I don't even exist in FB world anymore!  If they can't figure out how to get me up and running I may just leave it that way...it makes me really uneasy that some jerk was toying with my friends and knows my family info (especially DS's name/pics!).  Thanks for your concerns but I assure you that if I really had been robbed at gunpoint I would try not to ask you wonderful ladies for $$!  I just need your support on preemie parenting!  WHAT A MESS!!

    I had that happen with my yahoo email account. They hacked it, sent out an email asking for money and changed the password so I couldn't get back in. I was so embarrassed. The email went to EVERYONE in my contacts list which included all my family and friends plus some professional contacts and people like our wedding photographer, a land developer we've done some work with, our lawyer, etc. I was very embarrassed and it took forever to convince Yahoo who I was and get them to reset the password. From that point on, I now always use a VERY secure password with a combo of letters and numbers mixed inside the password.

    I'm sorry it happened and don't be embarrassed with us.  I thought it was odd and that is why there was no way I was sending money (not that I would love to help out a bumpie!)  It was just weird because I told the people well why don't you call your family and the response was, well they took my phone and all of my numbers.  I was thinking well I know my parents and other close family and friends #s by heart.  That was when I found the whole thing the most odd.  Then I got on here thinking maybe someone here knew what was going on and it turns out mhop and rubyred were on top of it :)

    I know it is a big deal in your life but know it was no big deal that they contacted us and so don't be embarrassed about it with us.  Good sorting it all out.

    mine too. same thing happend to me a few weeks ago. i deactivated my acct and just havent been on since. i weird message was sent to my aol address from a friend as well as a few unknown persons. and, the week before i was getting these creepy friend requests from these people from trinidad, jordan and nigeria. none of these people were friends with anyone i knew...

    i was embarrassed too. i didnt know what message was sent to antone. and the person who contacted me about the virus was my neice who is 11. so i hope it wasnt porn related.....ugh
