What I hate about The Business of Being Born

Every random pregnant woman who watches it somehow becomes a scholar in all things natural birth.  bwahahahahaha

3rd tri post yesterday is my case in point.

I mean, it's a good documentary, but it's just a starting point.  Do some of your own research, people.

    Yes, and some of the things they said were silly.  Like don't they talk about how sheep who have c/s don't bond with their lambs?  People aren't sheep (well some are Wink).

    I had an epi with my first.  Didn't have one with my second.

    I definitely love my second more.

    Wait, but I thought Ricki Lake was an expert on birthing, you know, because she's done it. Then again, she is an expert on getting sexy decoys to catch willing-to-cheat men right? So..maybe she does know everything.

    The book compares us to sheep? I'm pretty sure I've bonded with my son. I didn't just bhaa and leave him in a field after my c-section.

    I enjoyed the movie but also did my own reading/research.

    IMO Ricki Lake lost some credibility when she decided to host "Charm School" on VH1.

    After watching that I was afraid to have a baby in a hospital for about a month, they make it seem like the hospital is a jail and that you will be forced to take drugs and things you don't want.

    I was held down and forced to take the morphine and Epi, it was awful. Stick out tongue

    I could have kissed the nurse that suggested to the on-call docs that I get some morphine to dilate me enough to be admitted into labor....until the morphine made me throw up.

    good point....my fingers were typing faster than my brain was thinking.  she was pretty good as Doug Heffernan's sister though :)
