Gassy Foods for bfing???

Are there certain foods that you either don't eat or eat in moderation because they cause gassiness for your LO?

Re: Gassy Foods for bfing???

  • Anything that makes you gassy will have the same affect on you LO.

  • I stay away from anything with beans, raw cabbage, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, onions and garlic

  • For me, it's broccoli, pecans, caffeine, and oatmeal. I'm sure there are a few more that I just haven't pinpointed yet.
  • I've cut out dairy because DS was having such bad gas problems. So painful for him.

It seemed to make a difference overnight.

It depends on the baby.  Like pp said, if it makes you gassy...it will probably make baby gassy.  I've been eating certain foods in moderation, but she seems to do well with anything.

  • I found that dairy does a number on LO the next day, as does acidic foods such as tomato sauce... I have been avoiding both and he is doing MUCH better!  FWIW... he never showed any issues until he hit the 2 week mark...
  • I don't avoid any foods at all because none of it seems to affect J negatively.  I eat pretty much anything too.  Maybe I'm just not a gassy person?
