Enfamil gentlease, Sams version ?

I need to supplement with 2 formula bottles right now, my BM supply is decreasing, and DS is taking the enfamil version just fine. ?The sams price is cheaper for a lot more powder. ?

Does anyone use this? ?I thought I read awhile back that it gave some posters LO's constipation.?Thoughts? ?TIA

  • We used Enfamil with DD at first when I needed to start supplementing - supply issues here as well.  When we ran out of all the free samples of Enfamil, I switched to Target brand.  She has had no issues with it.  From what I've read, the way the FDA regulates formula, a no-name brand is just fine.  I compared the nutritional panels on the Target and Enfamil cans, and they're identical.

  • We use the Sam's version of Gentlease, and we like it better than the real stuff.  We find the Gentlease tends to clog in the bottle, but the Sam's formula doesn't.
  • I use the Member's Mark and I think it is waaaay better than the Enfamil. DD handles it better, it doesn't clump in the bottle the way Enfamil does, heck it even smells and tastes better. Yes, I said taste. I have tasted all the formulas out of curiosity. Enfamil tastes like pestacide once the mylicon is mixed in while Sam's club version tastes like cream.
  • It's kind of a silly thing, but the enfamil scoops are the same size as the bottle opening so it spills formula everywhere. Member's Mark are smaller so I can get it into the bottle without spilling.
