Can DD go in the pool?

She's 2 weeks shy of 6 months. I've read they should be 6 months old before taking them in public pools.

Is this a hard and fast rule? Or is it ok if we go to the local pool this weekend? Thanks!

    In general I think you are fine but I would do a bit of research about the pool. ?For example how chlorinated is the water? ?What is the temperature of the water? ?It may be too cold. ?You should also check there baby policy.

    I had DD in a pool at 2 months old. I never even thought twice about it, really.

    Our pedi told us it was ok at his last appt(4 months). I say go and have fun!

    It's our community center for members only. I imagine it's warm enough (we're in AZ), and they have a splash park. We probably won't stay for long but wanted to try it out.

    Yep you should be good to go!! Just take LOTS of sunscreen though!! (As I'm sure you already know!)

    Is it an outside pool? Our pedi said no sunscreen until 6 months, so we didn't take DS in the pool until then because of that. If it is indoors then I would say go for it.
