First I want to say THANK YOU!!! all the thoughts and prayers WORKED!!!
Julian was allowed to breastfeed til 7:30a then have pedialyte til 9:30a. We got to the hospital at 10a and were sent straight to our PRIVATE room!! He delt with his hunger great!!! I was carrying him when he got hungry but he quickly realized mommy could not breastfeed him so he just fell asleep on my chest. He was supposed to go in for surgery between 12 and 2p but of course the everything got delayed but they still came to get him in the room at 2pm and we were told he would go to preop by himself and supposed to say bye from his room (later I found out that was not true) but he started screaming and crying when I put him in his bed so of course I start crying and walking down the hall with the transport guy trying to get him to stop crying...the transport guy quickly realized I would need to carry him. So he looks at me and says your not going to trip RIGHT lol I of course I say NO!! so he let me carry him and he quickly fell asleep on me again.
preop:
We got to hang out in preop/holding til they were ready to prep him in the OR at 4:20p. The Dr came and spoke to us and answered all the questions I had. When they came to take him to surgery I just move to stand up and he starts to act like he was going to cry but the nurse was great and got a warm blanket and he just went with her without a single cry... she left so quickly I didn't get a chance to say bye which I'm glad because there was no reason to say bye...he wasn't going away!!! anyway I'm sure that she did it on purpose so the family wouldn't cry.I strongly feel like he knew something was up today because normally he would have cried like crazy after 3hrs of not eating.
Surgery
I had not had a single thing to eat and needed to pump so I quickly went to my unit at work and took a pump and then went up to his room pumped and then we went to hooters to eat. I felt wierd leaving the hospital but we were close enough for to get back quickly if called and it really made the time pass quickly. When we got back he still was not done so I went to L&D to distract myself. The surger actually started at 5pm and they had to remove 1 1/2 inches as expected. Surgery was over at 7:30p.
post op:
after a few minutes they let us see him in the recovery room. When I walked in he was crying in the nurses arms so she passed him to me and he STOPPED crying. It's such an amazing feeling to be needed by him. He did a wonderful job getting through the surgery. The gave him a spinal (anesthesia, like when you have a c-section) to help with the pain for at least 8hrs plus he can have morphine every 2hrs as needed. He can start on pedialyte in the morning and if he tolerates that he can start on breastmilk. We hope to be here only 3-4 days.
Angelina got to come and see him really quick after surgery and gave him kisses and was very gentle with him. I showed her his boo boo (he has 3 of them- 1 in his belly button and then 2 small ones by his lower abdomen. laproscopic surgery ) she then asked me if his other boo boo was gone and I told her yes and she got super happy .
everyone has gone him now and I have night shift with him and my mom and angel have day shift tomorrow until he can actually breastfeed that I then have to be here all the time. luckily the room has a sofa bed so I will be able to sleep in the room with him tonight.
well I'll update tomorrow thanks again
