Too early to buy some maternity clothes?

My boobs are killing me and my MIL told me about sleeping bras. ?I want to buy a few but, I feel like I'm so early in all of this that it could still be a bit ridiculous of me. ?Your thoughts?

  • You could try a sports bra before buying a sleeping bra.  If you do the sleeping bra just get one for now.

that's what I'm thinking. ?I also have a few cotton VS bras that may work for now. ??

  • I just wore my bigger sports bras when I was that early. I have no idea what a sleeping bra is.

LOL I'm pretty sure they're just sports bras! ?But, if MIL wants to order me one, I won't stop her! ?BTW her and my mom the slightest side look will send them in to a shopping spree to fix it lol!?

  • What about something like a cotton tank that has a shelf bra in it for now?

(Although I have some sleep nursing bras, and they are so comfy.  I may have to get them out soon...)

  • I dont think it's too early. I think it's based on how comfortable u are. I am about 5-6 weeks pregnant and so extremely bloated that I needed to go buy some clothes already. :)
  • My boobs are killing me right now too and I have been sleeping in those tanks that have a shelf bra (usually found in the fitness or sleepwear section) and they have made a world of difference.
  • Try a sport bra, the soreness should subside in a few weeks hopefully!  GL!

I am also sleeping in shelf bra tank tops.  I bought mine from Old Navy.

  • I too have been using the shelf bra tanks.  Go with what makes you comfortable, sore boobs suck!

  • I wouldn't count a new bra as "maternity clothes" necessarily. Do what makes you comfy!

Personally, I am going to wear my normal clothes as long as I can. I hope to make it through the summer with what I have and get maternity stuff for fall.

We'll see how that goes. :-)

  • I had to go out and buy new bras as well.  I didn't buy maternity bras per say but did make sure they are super comfy.  Also glad to read that others are suffering from bad bloat!  I thought it was just me, I have gained no weight but everything fits funny.  It's my second so I knew it would happen sooner but not this soon!

  • As long as you are not making a big investment I don't see the problem.

  • if you think you need a sleeping bra now. then get one. i wouldn't get crazy buying them but,if you need one get it.  then when you need a bigger size get another one. i say buy whatever makes you comfortable.
  • I bought a few bigger cheap bras at Target around 4 weeks. I went up a whole cup size! I invested in a few really nice maternity bras at 11-12 weeks. I think I'll go back in 3rd tri and buy nursing bras. You should definitely buy comfortable! Don't worry if people say it is too soon-- make your comfort a priority!

I'm getting a belly band today for my work clothes.  I've been saying "it's too early for this" since before my BFP for all sorts of "symptoms".   It's really crazy.
