I got news I wanted but at the same time, news that I didn't want. The good news I got made it all worth while though!
I had my NST done and my LO was fine. She doesn't move much anymore due to my Glyburide for my GD the doc says but as long as were getting some movements and a great heart rate then everything is ok. I'm being monitored twice a week and they've told me some signs to look out for.
He checked my cervix and I am 1cm dilated and 100% effaced!!! He stretched my cervix more and stripped my membranes. I know this isn't a lot of progress but it happened pretty quickly for me. I've been 90% effaced since 34 weeks and was checked yesterday by the midwife. Yesterday my cervix was completely closed and still 90% effaced. A lot happened over night!! The doctor today said I was almost 2cm and I have a very favorable cervix.
FINALLY! I got an induction date set. June 5th will be the day! I'll be brought in June 4th for cervadil unless i'm 3cm on June 2nd at my doctor appt. Of course they will induce before if something goes wrong during one of my NSTs. I wanted to do the induction before just because of everything going on but the only way to do that was with an amniocentesis and he said that he doesn't recommend that for me with everything that has gone on. He said it would probably send me straight into labor and he doesn't want that just incase her lungs aren't mature. He said it'd be too late to do anything. He convinced me that waiting to 39 weeks is the best thing to do! lol
Literally, 2 weeks from now I will be a mommy!! The midwife that I absolutely love is on call that day so she will be the one deliverring. I think it was supposed to work this way which is why everything has been a big mess for days! God obviously had a plan in store for me and my baby girl!
3 more doctor visits and 2 more weeks to go. I can do it!
Oh Oh!! Doctor also said that he really thinks that I will go before then on my own which is another reason why he wants to wait to the last minute to do the induction. He said going naturally is so much safer and better on the body then being induced. For all you ladies dying for an induction, tell yourself this when you feel hopeless! (unless you are of course past your due date then I don't blame you!) LOL!
ok.. I think that is all, now to update my blog!
Re: as promised, update from doctor.
Yeah! I'm so glad you got your official induction date! (I agree w/ you and your doc that waiting until 39 weeks is best for baby unless an NST shows she's not doing well)
Question... did it hurt to have your membranes stripped?
glad to hear the visit went well..
also - I've been gone most of the day and just got on here - and let me tell you something, bethiex....you look great! Don't let people get you down. I know there are some people on here that have no filter what so ever and feel like they are entitled to say whatever they like...I don't care if this is a public forum...people need to realize that having diarrhea of the mouth is NOT ok.
Oh my gosh yes! I will not lie to you and try to sugarcoat it. haha! I didn't know he was going to do it. He started my internal and said "1cm dilated, 100%effaced" and then he pushed down on the top of my stomach and I had this horrible sharp pain go from the outside of my vagina all the way up my whole body and I got super hot. I said "omg what are you doing!!!" and he said "there you go! Your membranes are stripped and your cervix is stretched some more!" I said "oh.. thanks I think." LOL!
This is good advice. I *hope* you go into labor on your own but if not, I'm glad you'll know that your doctor didn't rush you into the induction. I was scheduled for one too but went into labor on my own 7 hours beforehand. You never know!
GL!! It will be soon regardless. Yay!

Wow, it must really be different for everyone! I had mine stripped today and it honestly didn't feel much worse than the internal! It hurt a bit but nothing unbearable, and she didn't push down on my stomach or anything so maybe that's a reason it didn't hurt too badly? No sharp pain or anything, but I've had some cramping, which she said I could expect.
Great news! It must feel great to have an end in sight too!
Tell me about getting your membranes stripped. Painful or not to bad? Sounds terrible!
Maybe it was the stretching of my cervix that hurt! Whatever it was I didn't like. lol
Yeah- Glad you got some good news...Now try everything you can to get her out on your own :-) At least you know there is an end in site just incase!
Hang in there!
Yay for good news!
Best of luck, and hopefully she decides to make her appearance a little early.
