Swim diapers: pampers or huggies?

Any idea which are best?

Re: Swim diapers: pampers or huggies?

  • I've only used the Huggies swim diapers.  I use regular huggies though.  They seem to work really well and we've been swimming several times.

  • I've always bought the huggies for some reason- but DS wears Pampers day and night.

FYI- Right now at Kroger their swim diapers are on sale- $6.99 (and you can use a coupon on top of that) and if you spend $15 in Huggies products you get $3 back. It's a deal... soooo right now Huggies are the best!!!! lol I have bought enough to last this summer and some for next summer.

Honestly, I didn't know that either of them made swim diapers!  Of the ones I know, I recommend iPlay for being cute, and Imse Vimse also makes popular ones.  Even Target has some that work really well and are cute too (Circo brand, I think) -- we loved Kira's from Target last summer.  Check out some here: https://www.myswimbaby.com/.  The can be pricey but they're so fun!

ETA: I see pps' responses now -- interesting.  You don't want to use anything absorbent though or they'd soak up the pool.  The swim diapers I recommend look just like bathing suits but they have a liner sewn in to contain any poop that might happen.  You put them on the little one just before you get in the pool since they're not absorbent. :)

  • I use Huggies (though we use Pampers the rest of the time) and so do all the other moms I see at the pool where we swim. I don't think I've ever actually seen the Pampers version in the store.

We're buying the Huggies. I haven't seen pampers.

  • I think they are pretty much the same but are two diffrent brands. I think the Huggies are more commonly known :) FWIW, these diapers are poo catchers and are not good if your baby pees on them. I always put them on DS right before we get in the pool and remove them when they get out. Good luck!!!
It took over four years to be diagnosed with PCOS. We TTC #1 for 18 months, did 5 rounds of Clomid and finally moved onto IVF...which worked! Throughout our IF journey, we suffered 3 miscarriages. We conceived both DD and DS without treatment.

    ?

Swim diapers do NOT hold pee - only poop.

You're better off buying the washable kind. ?You'll spend less money in the long run. ?Target carries some cute ones every year! ?When they go on clearance at the end of summer buy larger size(s) for next summer. ?They mark them down something insane (like 75%).

Or... buy them off ebay for cheap - new in package. ? They make them with matching robes, hats, the works!

And don't make the mistake I made before I learned that they don't hold pee. ?Don't put them in them until RIGHT BEFORE you get in the pool. ?Washing the car seat cover is not fun.?

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • We've used both. Huggies fit smaller, Pampers are softer and hold up better, and dry super quick - I prefer them. I actually re-wash the Pampers and use them over and over again but they Huggies didn't hold up so well.
