edible arrangements = expensive!

I hate to be a cheapie but most of the decent things on their site are $80 or more. That just seems crazy to me. Do you think it's just as nice to send a thoughtful card or do you think I should I splurge on the fruit?

If you missed my post below, I want to send something for DH's aunt who just lost her husband. DD and I are unfortunately missing the funeral.

Yeah they are mucho $$$ but they are yummy. I think a nice card would be fine maybe your DH can pick up a nice box of choc on the way.

i would send a plant. i like plants because they don't die quickly and it gives her something to "nurture" in a time of grief.

Yes they are crazy expensive. I would go with a card and maybe a plant or something similar that she can keep forever instead of a floral arrangement. We got my grandmother a plant when my grandfather died and she still has it (6 years later) and it was better than food that would have gone to waste bc so many others will send her stuff like that.

i'd go with one of the dish gardens since they have some variety and typically last a long time.

They also have a floor one that is more $ but I got my grandmother the one above and it is a great table sized plant.

I would have it delivered to her home tomorrow or even Monday. The plant is a great idea. When my gpa died my mom got a plant and she still cherishes it 9 years later.

I think they are too much money as well. My dad orders them for people a lot and he thinks they're really cool so I got him one for his birthday last year.. Umm.. I could have gotten him something that would last more than a few days for $60.

If you really want to send the edible arrangement, you can google a coupon code for like 10% off or something, I'm pretty sure.
