OMG DH and I make her stoop and it is amazing!!! We absolutley love it! It is way better than any soup or stew we have ever had! We try to make it twice a year and then freeze the left overs yummmmm.....
i like that she has to explain what EVOO is after she says "EVOO." it seems like she's making things harder on herself. i really can't stand that woman...
My mom has a friend that works for Barnes & Noble, and she said that out of all the celebrities that come and do book signings, Rachel Ray has been the worst. Apparently she freaked out at the temp of her water. It has to be a certain degree. It's written into her contract or something. The lady said the book signing started an hour late because Rachel was protesting because of the water. NICE.
I can't stand her. She's WAY too frickin' bubbly and cute. I used to hate Martha Stewart before Rachel Ray became famous. RR makes me like Martha Stewart. I never thought I'd live to see the day. . .
I know she has a huge following, but she is definitely one of my least favorite of all the food network chefs/cooks. ?Her cooking vernacular is just strange (as has been mentioned) and her recipes take LONGER than 30 minutes and they're kinda eh most of the time.?
Sosat01---You hit the nail on the head: I also hate that her recipes NEVER take "only" 30 minutes. Yes, I'm sure they would take 30 minutes--if we also had someone else prepping all the ingredients for us. And also, if we rehearsed before actually making the meals for our families, like she does. AND if we were professional cooks with many years of experience in timing cooking stuff like she does. I hate false advertising, and I can't stand that she pretends to try and make cooking accessible to people by lying to them about how long stuff takes.
Alton Brown is WAY cooler, and much more honest about how long stuff takes and how easy or hard something is to do. He's awesome.

So true! Well- she does prep everything on the show but I can't chop veggies as fast as she does! BUT the meals are easy. I haven't tried one in years but when I first started cooking several years ago, I did.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one who had this problem. ?
At least your first cousin doesn't work for her ... mine does and my entire family LOVES her. I have no opinion, really, but my husband can't stand her and has to bite his tongue every time we visit my grandmother (who goes on about her).
Re: Rachel Ray is jumping the shark!

Extra Virgin Olive Oil. it makes me sick that i know that. I can not stand that woman.
I used to watch her, but throughout the pregnancy she's become more annoying.
DH has always hated her. In his words, "I want to kick her in her teeth". Where that came from, I'm not quite sure...
