I've noticed the past few days that my back has really been bothering me when trying to sleep. I took some tylenol and it helped me sleep. But my back is killing me today, any ideas for relief? When I get home from work I plan on trying some stretching. I hope this is temporary (like I pulled something or moved the wrong way) and isn't going to be with me for the next 13 weeks!
Re: Mid to Lower Back Pain... relief?
My back hurts all the time too!
My reliefe is yoga once a week and a heatpad and streching when it's the worse.
I feel your pain!
i stretch my back in the warm water of the shower every morning (just lean forward and try to curve it in the opposite direction).
unfortunately it still hurts by every afternoon/evening. so then i use a microwavable bean-filled pillow thing to heat up and wrap around it, and i stretch some more.
but nothing keeps the pain fully away, sorry! we're carrying big basketballs up front now, it's hard not to stress your back

Ditto. I had insane back pain at the beginning of third tri. Three visits to the best chiro ever got me back to my old self.
Massages, heat pads, spending time in water/pool (relieves strain of belly weight on your back), and remembering to bend or stoop with my knees instead of my back helped me too. Also, try out a different sleeping arrangements. For some reason, arranging my pillows into a "wedge" and sleeping on an incline really helped me.
This is true. I have noticed that the further along I get, I can't really stand for a long period of time because my back muscles start to burn. It's like they are screaming at me to sit down. I'll wash dishes and cook and have to rest my elbows on the counter - kind of bending over the sink and counter to get a little relief. I can't wait to have an outside baby!
I would say my back keeps getting worse the futher along I get but I use heat therapy patches at work and when I am home I use a heating pad. Chiropractor definately works wonders too.
