3rd Trimester

need mattress suggestion, help please!

I've been going back and forth between which mattress to buy.  I was thinking either the Colgate Classica I or a Sealy or Simmons coil mattress with >150 coils.  I've had a hard time finding these.  The colgate classica seems to be sold at only specialty stores and is about $150 (I was hoping to find it for around$100).  The coil mattresses are hard to find with more than 150 coils. Any suggestions?

Thanks ladies!

  • I got a coil mattress from diapers.com with 150 coils just the other week for my DS...it was under $100. It's really nice, much nicer than the one my DD has.

I just bought the Colgate Classica II from Bed Bath & Beyond online Monday. They are $150. But, I have heard great things about them on this board, so I am hoping it is worth the investment.
  • I bought a Serta from BRU, with 242 coils.  It was $140, but I used a 15% off coupon.  The ratings aren't all that great on it, but it's because they say the mattress didn't fit their crib, but I had no issues with that.  Mine fits perfect.

colgate foam mattress.  Baby Bargains gives it the highest recommendation.

You might want to consider that once your LO is bigger, they can use the coil mattress as a trampoline...if your crib converts to a toddler bed.  They can be dangerous.

  • we ordered the naturepedic organic crib mattress 252 coils - it got GREAT reviews and was one of the lower-priced organic mattresses out there.  It fits our crib perfectly.
